Junior Caucus
The ABWLC Jr. Caucus members are between the ages of 12 and 17.
Purpose:
The purpose of this network shall be to enhance self-esteem, pride
and leadership abilities in our young black women.
Objective:
The objective of this network shall be to motivate young black
women to have an interest in and understanding of public issues and
encourage their involvement in the same.
What we do:
- Active participation in functions sponsored by our senior
Caucus
- Mentoring Program
- Keep Akron Beautiful participant
- Black History
- Annual Walk-A-Thon
- Adopt-A-Family for Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday
- Annual Christmas Luncheon and gift exchange
- Cookie Bake
- 2005 sponsored care packages to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan
